Hosting a backyard graduation party can be much fun, but there are some essential items you should consider renting to ensure a successful celebration. Here’s a checklist of things you should make sure to rent for your backyard grad party:
- Tents or Canopies:
- Depending on the weather, consider renting tents or canopies to provide shade and shelter for your guests.
- We recommend a 20×20, 20×30 or 20×40 tent!
- Tables and Chairs:
- Rent enough tables and chairs to accommodate your guests comfortably.
- Choose from round tables or banquet tables!
- Adding cocktail tables can provide a place for guests to set down beverages as they chat with each other.
- Consider children’s chairs and tables if you expect young guests.
- Don’t forget to grab table covers– Disposable plastic covers are cheaper and easier to clean up!
- Lighting:
- Bistro lighting can create a festive atmosphere in your backyard. Hang them around the seating area, near food stations, and along pathways.
- If your party continues after sunset, proper lighting is essential.
- Grills and Cooking Equipment & Warmers:
- If you plan to cook on-site, consider renting a BBQ gas grill. It’s perfect for grilling burgers, hot dogs, and other delicious treats.
- Specialty drink dispensers (for margaritas, smoothies, and slushy drinks) can also be rented.

- Consider other arrival games or activities like our corn hole games to keep everyone engaged.
- Garbage Cans and Recycling Bins:
- Proper waste management is essential. Rent garbage cans and recycling bins to keep your backyard clean during and after the party.
- Pipe & Drape
- Are you using the garage for extra space? Consider renting pipe and drape, a simple solution to conceal clutter and create a more organized area!
